Beloved Enemy

Beloved Enemy by Al Lacey is the story of Buck Brownell and Jenny Jordan falling in love across enemy lines.  It is the beginning of the Civil War and Jenny’s father is a top advisor to President Lincoln and an important spy for the South.  As the war continues to become more turbulent for both sides Jenny’s father pressures her to not only hide his efforts but become actively involved.  To add to her plight she has fallen in love with a Union officer.  Buck Brownell is very much the patriot and very much in love with Jenny.  Buck and Jenny must discover if the lines between them are too deep for their love to flourish.

This is my first Al Lacey story.  The story really takes you onto the Civil War battlefield.  There is so much history embedded into the story.  I enjoy fiction from the Civil War and found this to be a sweet love story.  This book is perfect for the true Civil War history buff.  Al Lacey definitely does his research to give readers an authentic story.

I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group  for this review.
